Here are the three books I've been reading at the library this week, as research for something I'm writing. But the librarians at the issue desk don't know that. And somehow, they always manage to hand them to me with the red one on the top of the pile...
... and then give a look that says 'My God... what did you do?'
Or so it seems to me. Maybe it's just my guilty conscience.
Perhaps it's due to all the Guilt-related graffiti in the loos. At dwarf-eye height, no less.

I once ordered a book at the BL, for frivolous reasons, which turned out to be about 30 volumes and they wheeled it out for me on a trolley. I had to spend all afternoon pretending to pore over the various parts so they wouldn’t think I was wasting their time… Love the blog, and extremely impressed with everything you’re doing. Maybe we’ll bump into each other in the BL some time!
