Uh-oh.

I went back to my university at the weekend, and while I was there, I thought I'd have a quick look to see who now lives in my old room.

It's not great news, guys...

  1. That was good for a morning belly laugh. Never really interested in my old dorm room Actually I think they may have even torn the building down.

So looking forward to the next installment of Cabin Pressure!

Thank you Mr. Finnemore, for being the genius that you are!

Send a telegram immediately to 221b Baker Street... however improbable, it must be the truth.

See, never let shooting yourself on a rooftop hold you back. The guy is still doing pretty well for himself! XD

I remember going to his French lectures in the early 1990s, when he was merely Dr Moriarty, and at the time I always secretly hoped he'd end up a professor on day, just for the hilarity value. I'm so glad the universal comedy fairies made it happen!

The real "Moriarty's Police Law" was essential reading :

So you be jolly careful Mr Finnemore

PS. I see that Douglas has a new job as a cabinet minister, Saturdays 9.45, BBC2.

Perplexing and suspicious. Why are they making Prof Moriarty slum it in K7, an undergrad's room?

I was more worried by the disappearance of the occupants of K2 and K3. Where have they gone?

To quote Sheldon on 'The Big Bang Theory'
"It's amazing how many supervillians have degrees, you'd think the universities would be more careful."

  14. Mr Finnemore, you must go to 221b Baker Street immediately. Show John Watson this photograph, he'll know what to do.

Don't tell him I sent you.

  15. By strange association, Hans Zimmer composed the soundtrack to the Guy Ritchie SH film Game of Shadows in which the main baddie was the dear Professor. It seems there may be even more to this relationship!

Anyone who has the surname Moriarty owes it to London to become a Professor!

PS- John Finnemore, whenever I listen to Cabin Pressure on my mp3 player, I can't help but laugh out loud. People on the tube think I'm a little crazy, and I don't even care (Is there even a Londoner who isn't a little deranged anyway?)! :)

  20. Richard Brook10:19 pm

I am afraid that this was a misprint- I have been asking the University to change it to Richard Brook, but they just won't listen. I have no idea how they could have got confused, but it seems they did. Sorry to disappoint you, but Prof. Moriarty doesn't exist.

  21. The Souvenir Programme rehearsal was magnificent tonight, Mr F.! Thanks for making it so highly enjoyable. The Archers sketch was brilliant as always, as were the goldfish! And oh my, the songs! All fantastic. And of course...the soul-selling... I'm still waiting for Keshena to figure out that she's come home without a) a soul OR b) a t-shirt...
We got back to the train station to find our car broken into and radio vanished, but it's something of a testament to just how funny tonight was that we were ~still~ laughing all the way home. You, sir, can make EVERYTHING better. So thank you for that, as well xD

Er, hello! I will actually be starting as an undergrad at Peterhouse in a couple of weeks and got terribly excited when I found out that you went there. I'm thrilled to be walking the hallowed halls where the likes of Babbage, Kelvin and Finnemore have trod.

  24. You were brilliant again last night - I can't wait to here the finished work, especially the final song. That made me laugh harder than anything has in far too long. It's still in my head over a day later!

    Chris

ps. Sorry for asking such a difficult question at the end.

Just heard the first 'Souvenir Program'.

I really like the museum guide for five year olds - brilliant!

(Sorry but there is no other word for it, it really was brilliant, going round the National Gallery or the British Museum will never be the same again.)
