Oh yes it is.
Hello, hope you had the merriest of Christmasses. If you are wondering where the twenty-forth thing I drew this month is, it will be here tomorrow. In the meantime, you might enjoy listening to the Radio Four Panto I wrote with my friend and ex double act partner Kevin Baker. It's on at 6.15 tonight, stars Sandi Toksvig and Andy Hamilton, and features loads and loads of other Radio Four names, from Kirsty Young to Nicholas Parsons. If you like Radio Four, I think you'll enjoy it. If you don't listen to Radio Four much, it will be largely incomprehensible.
Oooh! Splendid! My radio is on stand-by.

Am rather hoping that Thing 24 will be something totally silly from 'that day' so recently enjoyed/not enjoyed by us all.

ReplyDeleteSlept through the episode what with the time difference putting it at noon—Don't judge me!—but just heard it through On Demand. So much fun!
ReplyDeleteOne can imagine writing that sort of thing is challenging, what with everyone's availability and scheduling, no? Probably had a few scenes or cameos that didn't pan out?
Most gratifying that the On Demand/Friday Night Comedy podcast edit trails off with the pips.

We're playing yellow car daily in Perth, Australia. We live in Melbourne, but there are way more yellow cars in Perth. Very much hope we get to hear the panto somehow. Thanks heaps for all the smiles!

Loved the panto. One thing I enjoy about your writing is that you treat the story as being as important as the comedy. So often with comedy you can see the resolution to the problem a mile off. I don't think I ever have done with your work yet all the clues are there when the solution is finally revealed. This time I was genuinely expecting the Grand Inquisitor to be John Humphrys (or maybe Jim Naughtie, he did Hamish and Dougal's Hogmanay special one year) but Nicholas Parsons was a great choice.
