Cabin Pressure News

Alright chaps, listen up, here's the briefing.

Series One is (I have only just discovered) being repeated on BBC7 at the moment, which means each episode will be available on iPlayer for the following week. At the moment, for instance, you can hear Boston.

Series Two is now available to buy from iTunes here (as indeed is Series One). Series Two is also nominated for a comedy.co.uk award, though don't get too excited, because so is every British comedy broadcast in 2009. However, if you did want to vote for it, then who am I to stop you?

Finally, Series Three is still not available anywhere, due to a persistent 'not existing' problem. However, I'm pleased to say that this week the BBC have asked me to fix this, and I've said I'll see what I can do. I don't know yet when it will be broadcast, but probably not for a while. For one thing, I have to write it first.

Speaking of which, as I gear up again for the fun 'research' stage, before the pesky but apparently non-negotiable 'actually writing it' stage, it seems like a good time to ask: if anyone reading this is in any way associated with the aviation industry, whether as flight crew, cabin crew, ground staff or management, and would be willing to talk to me about it, I'd love to hear from you. I have some excellent sources already (and if any of them are reading this, they should take it as a warning I shall be nagging them for more help very soon), but I can always do with more.  If you can help, or you know someone who might, please email me at cabinpressure@johnfinnemore.com, and we can arrange to talk on the phone, or in person, as convenient.

Ok, briefing over. The cheese tray will be up shortly.

Have you plundered the vaults of Pprune? Loads of good (and even more loads of toshy) piloting stories there...

I know a pilot who might be interested. I'll ask him...

No useful connections for you, I'm afraid but hurrah! that there will be a third series.

Off to vote now...

Equally no help whatsoever from this direction in terms of general aviation stories... BUT... Yay! CP will be back! Hoorah for Douglas, Martin, Arthur and Carolyn! And of course Hoorah to John for conceiving this baby we all enjoy so much, and to the BBC for (eventually) recommissioning it! Better late than never! Please keep the updates coming - want to be in the know for getting tickets to see / hear the recordings!

Of course I could never tell you which way I would vote but I will also be forwarding the link to everyone I know who likes the series!

Along with others here and around the world, I'm pleased that a new series of Cabin Pressure is in the works. Great! I've already voted for it at comedy.co.uk.

Alas, I'm no help with aviation background, though I have seen some sites with a variety of aviation stories, such as:

http://www.thirtythousandfeet.com/stories.htm .

Best of luck with it- I'm sure you'll do as phenomenally well as you did with Series 1 and 2.

Well done Sir, much deserved! I flew on a plane once, and saw the Goodyear blimp fly overhead in 1977. I may have a picture somewhere. Thats an episode taken care of.

Rupert - Yes, I'm a dedicated Pprune lurker. But thank you.

Karyn - Oh brilliant - thank you so much!

Anonymous - Nothing in my spam folder, but I have checked an account I never use, and found a very useful offer of help from about a year ago. Is that what you're referring to? I shall contact that person tomorrow, so if it's not you, please do get back in touch.

Dave, Jessica, Riffle and Niel - Thank you very much for your good wishes! Hope series three lives up to your expectations...

I think that I might just be more excited that Arthur at the prospect of another MJN flight.
I heard series 2 when it was broadcast and I was given series 1 at Christmas (also available via audible.co.uk if you need another plug but I might be preaching to the converted if you're reading this). Listening to Cabin Pressure has been fantastic while pushing my baby in her pram and I've stopped trying to laugh out loud. Thanks John.

Glad the website is working again- or was it just me having trouble?
Re third series of CP: I suppose all of us telling you eager we are does increase the weight of expectation on your weary shoulders- but... brilliant!
A neighbour's daughter worked until recently for a very tiny charter airline. I will see if she would be willing to be contacted if you haven't already got too many possibles. Good luck in the Comedy Awards: I shall also be sending the link around. Very best wishes.

Just remembered my daughter's friend's husband is a pilot- I will try him too. I imagine you're going to be inundated though!

Strangely, I know a pilot called Carolyn who owns an airline - well, an air-dot - well a Spitfire MkIX if we're being pedantic.

Cabin Pressure is my second favourite radio prog. ISIHAC comes first, naturally...

Will MJN air fly to Orstralia? If so, I know a bunch of us who can help.
Keep up the brilliant work!

Have just discovered and listened to both series of Cabin Pressure. Very funny, excellent series, a great bunch of characters.
Decided to buy both series online to help support the programme.
Came on to see if there will be a third series, so it's great news and looking forward to it, but not written yet? Get cracking on it ASAP thanks.

Bing bong, love the show and am glad to have the new series appear on the anniversary of the passing away of a loved one. It's always bleak this time of the year despite being summer. For once it won't be.

Question: why the alphabetic descrepancy? Or will N, O and P be dealt with in episode 1 of series 3?

Newspapers have speculated whether or not this argument holds water, but we didn't have enough time to wear it and sleep. Wedding ProductsIf you are quite fascinated by wedding and reception more multi-colored.

We'd all have gone to hell in a handcart, driven by Peter Bazelgette, Chris Moyles and the cast comprised of handicapped folks of various stripes. I suppose masturbation will always have the easiest life, and the waging of war, I'll start to see them enjoying the sight of the squaddie in the vicinity!
It's a best deal to buy fleshlight juice!
