Exciting opportunity to do my work for me.

I'm appearing on the Now Show again next Tuesday, or rather the new Vote Now Show that will be on 11pm Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays until the election.

I have a favour to ask you connected with it. If you have the means, time, and inclination, I would be ever so grateful if you could send me a scan or photo of an election campaign leaflet you've had through the door recently. Any party will do. You can either post it on facebook or flickr, or indeed anywhere else of your choice, and send me the link; or send the picture directly to me at cabinpressure@johnfinnemore.com.

Thank you very much!

[Just a standard "On the Internet" disclaimer: I don't know the Straight Choice site personally, but presume some troll will try to fool it occasionally.]

It's great to hear that you'll be on the Now Show again. Can't wait! Great job.

Oh, that's fantastic, thank you! When will I learn to Google stuff before bleating for help? More than I'll ever need there, so thank you, but no-one need send any more.

There’s an independent Lincolnshire Party standing in some (I'm guessing predominately Lincolnshire) constituences. Note their leaflet's graph depicting they’re polling twenty times higher than Labour (!) three times higher than the combined entire Tory, Liberal & Labour vote. Plus the age attributed to the child’s drawing.

The Martin Bell "endorsement" photo was clearly achieved by hanging around a shopping centre until Martin Bell went past on his way to the newsagents, and then snapping him behind a carefully positioned candidate.

Deposit-losingly transparent.

John,

Straight Choice here, for all your essential election leaflet services.

I need you to upload that David Rowntree leaflet you mentioned last night to
this page here ASAP.

You need me to? Or you would like me to?

Anyway, I'll see what I can do.

Hi John,

It's great that you are using The Straight Choice.org for your material. You are doing a better job than most journalists at finding the good stories in there!

Do you think you could give us a credit next time though? We are just a bunch of volunteers so don't have any money for promotion and would really appreciate it.

Hopefully it will be a virtuous circle too - more leaflets = more material.

Keep it up,

Richard (TheStraightChoice.org)

Credit can be hard to obtain (ask a bank customer) in spite of genuine intentions to award it; I had some material on the same show (Tuesday night’s) but was mis-credited as “Robert”. Oh well. The important thing is that John’s slot was superb.

There’s a successful career out there as a stand-up waiting for you, John. Just get an agent who books you into nice, cosy middle class Arts Centres where people drink elderflower presse in the interval. Don’t do what I did, and perform outdoor comedy walking tours – it’s bad enough enduring an audience heckle you, without the general public, cyclists, reversing lorries, tramps/students and passing celebrities (Thom Yorke from Radiohead being the most impressive) heckling you too. And I was actually fairly competent(ish).
