Actually if you set out to draw a Victoria Cross and you were in a bit of a hurry it might turn out like that.

The mad staring eyes and bloodshot propellor don't inspire confidence. This plane looks distinctly the worse for wear. Even Douglas wouldn't risk flying in that condition.

Wow. I actually think the deranged-looking face and bright colors would have been really appealing to me as a little kid, which I worry makes me weird, but that medal is just...baffling. I think the most disturbing part is how they put it at such a fun, jaunty angle, with the sweet little painted highlights.
Oh my God, how can anyone look at that things eyes (or portals to despair more like it in this case) without having nightmares for the next 6 months..
