Perhaps it was a romantic gesture that went awry...

Parish notices:

Yesterday, John and Kevin's Sunday Papers went to the races. We discuss, among other things, just how easy it is to inadvertently buy a horse.

Today, at 6:30 on Radio 4 and iPlayer thereafter, I will be lying to Jack Dee, Alex Horne and Lucy Beaumont about pubs, on The Unbelievable Truth.

Sadly, the following headline from the Mirror did not appear on the first Sunday of the month, and so Kevin and I couldn't cover it. But then again, I'm sort of glad, because that would have meant reading the story, and I feel sure I'd have found the explanation disappointing.

Hah! Shame there's not a picture of him covered in the dead badgers. Also, I'm slightly disappointed it was badgers and not horses, to fit in with the rest of the news...

My enthusiasm for Monday has soared at the revelation that The Unbelievable Truth is back. Thank you, Mr. Finnemore, for being the messenger of my joy.

You reminded me of Henning Wehn with all the buzz('ave a banana)ing on today's TUT! Always lovely to hear you having fun :D

Hurray! (at new Unbelievable Truth and Sunday Papers, not the vanload of dead badgers). Are you going to be on the new series of the Now Show as well, Mr Finnemore? I applied for tickets, but didn't get any, bah.

More bird vomiting facts than you can shake a big stick at, and a made-up game to rival Hey-ho-Rumbelow in the shape of the game with the sugar mouse (or indeed mouse) as a prize. Excellent work as ever!

Enjoyed your scatter-gun approach!

(And couldn't help noticing - selfishly - that The Sunday Papers will be back on my birthday. I shall take this as a good omen ...)

If you listened to the news quiz you would already know all about the dead badgers. ;)

Perhaps inadvertently buying horses comes somewhere between the edges of credulity. Off to soak up TUT. Glad it's back 'round the moon again. :D

People like me who missed that episode of The Unbelievable Truth and can't get the blasted i-player to work, might like to know that it will be repeated on Radio 4 at noon on Sunday 13 April, and then twice more on Radio 4-Extra, at 0730 & 2200 on Monday 14 April.

I think they did it on the News Quiz that week. Hugo Rifkind got the question- it might be on Youtube if you want to hear it. And the story does not disappoint. At all.

Personally, I think it might have been a failed attempt to see how many of them he could fit on a sixteen-seat aeroplane...

Inadvertently buying a horse is the worst! Like what am I supposed to do with all these horses? I was trying to buy books but I accidentally kept clicking "horse." Darn.

Why, I just inadvertently bought a horse just yesterday! Unfortunately, it chucked my be-speckled face right into a carload of badgers. I HATE it when that happens!

Loved the video! I had a lovely guffaw and wanted to come here and point out my favourite bits, but it's always annoying to read those kinds of comments if you haven't seen the video yet, so I'll just say thank you and be off! :)

Dear sir,
I'm studying for my level one court of master sommeliers test and I hope to goodness they don't ask anything about Pomerol because I can't think of Petrus without laughing a bit. Thanks for that. When I have time after this is over I will certainly watch your video, which I am sure is hilarious. :-)

I was surprised to hear an episode of Cabin Pressure on Radio 4 tonight. It was 'Vaduz' (the one when Arthur played Top Trumps with the King of Liechtenstein). They seem to be repeating series four at 1830 on Thursdays.

John was on The Unbelievable Truth again tonight, with some bewilderingly rapid-fire lies about dogs.If you missed it you can probably get it on that there 'I-Player', if you can work it.Or you could catch one of the three repeats:Radio 4, 12 noon Sunday 27 April;Radio 4-extra, 0730 Monday 28 April;Radio 4-extra, 2200 Monday 28 April.

I don't know what to think of the fact that I actually know about the crashed vanload of dead badgers (into a bus stop, for the record)
